About Mila Bakes
Hi, I am Mila – a West Coast transplant living in NYC, mom of 2 and a versatile home baker serving my family and community. My baking journey began when I realized that my family deserved better than store-bought bread that is designed for shelf life rather than easy digestion. My quest for better options lead me to become a self-taught sourdough baker. It was overwhelming at first, and I almost gave up on my endeavor entirely. It took many hours of video tutorials, trial and error, and countless amount of improperly proofed loaves. Yet, my family encouraged me to keep trying. Now, I bake for our family of 4, and for many friends, family and members of our community. I am extremely honored and grateful that this ancestral knowledge of bread making found its way into my life, and has continued to bless the lives of many more. Real bread, made by hand with real organic ingredients, from my oven to your table.
Ancestral bread making is a craft that is meant to be shared with others. My mission is to bring back healthy bread to our families and communities. This is why I offer my free newsletter, where I share all things sourdough and a free Sourdough Starter Care & Peak Readiness Guide when you sign up to help you get started on your sourdough journey.
Ready to go all in? Check out my upcoming local hands-on workshops where we learn tangible bread-making skills together that will benefit you and your family for generations to come. Small class size, hands-on instruction, zero gatekeeping.
